“When we place our dependence in God, we are unencumbered, and we have no worry. In fact, we may even be reckless, insofar as our part in the production is concerned. This confidence, this sureness of action, is both contagious and an aid to the perfect action. The rest is in the hands of God – and this is the same God, gentlemen, who has won all His battles up to now.” - Vince Lombardi
Cibolo Spartans is a faith based outreach program of Kingdom Life Christian Ministries. Our focus is to provide a safe, motivating, family environment in which kids can have fun and compete in their favorite sport while developing as a student, leader, athelete. Our program combines ELA (Education, Leadership and Athletics) to invest and train up tomorrows leaders. Along with sports we offer tutoring, S.T.A.A.R test preparation, leadership development as well as a host of other community service programs.
The mission of TYFA is to provide young athletes with opportunities to compete and win at some of the highest levels of youth football and cheer in an environment free from discrimination and prepare these athletes for lifelong contributions to society; to embrace equality, academic achievement and diversity through competition of sport.
TYFA’s vision is to serve as a catalyst for stimulating Football and Cheer in the State of Texas and to play a major role in unifying all the leagues in Texas under one set of rules.
TYFA is one of the largest independent Leagues in the country; the largest in Texas.
TYFA has Chapters in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Killeen, the Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio and West Texas. In addition numerous small towns in the surrounding areas of those cities are part of TYFA.
For Tackle Football TYFA uses a combination of the NCAA rules and a set of "home grown" rules that are modifications to the NCAA set and provide the unique rules to TYFA. TYFA uses their own set of rules for Flag.
TYFA has 2 seasons, Spring and Fall. Each is slightly different and are explained in the appropriate Structure menu item on the right.
TYFA has 5 eligible age brackets which are available to both Boys and Girls with no discrimination against their size or weight.
Eligibility is determined by what age an athlete will be on 8/1/current year
|Flag||4-5||4s allowed if 4 on or before 8/1/current year|
|Tykes||6-7||5 if 6 on or before 8/1/current year|
|Rookies||8-9||7 if 8 on or before 8/1/current year|
|Juniors||10-11||9 if 10 on or before 8/1/current year|
|Seniors||12-13||11 if 12 on or before 8/1/current year|
A TYFA year is split into 2 seasons. Spring is for fun and Fall is very competitive. Each is mutually exclusive of the other. TYFA cheerleaders cheer for football games and then (in the Fall only) have a State Cheer Competition with the highest scoring squad going to a national event. In the Cheer Program there are 6 eligible age brackets all of which may compete.
